This single-malt scotch comes to us from the region of Islay, and above all, Islay means peat, and lots of it. Following tradition, Lagavulin receives the slowest distilliation of any Islay malt, giving it its characteristic roundness and soft, mellow edges. After distilliation, this malt spends 16 years breathing the sea-salt air of Islay, further adding to the spirits' rich peatiness. Smoky as well, this is a rich spirit that has a slight sweetness at first, but finishes rich with the flavors you'd expect from this region.
